It is with a very heavy heart and after a lot of consideration that I write this letter.
After running the Tring to John F Kennedy school route for many years, I feel that I am left with
little option but to cease running the route at the end of this academic year.
I have run the route this year at a financial loss. I have not even taken enough revenue to cover
the basic costs, fuel and driver.
With the number of pupils traveling going down next year, and with only a maximum of 5 joining,
that would reduce the income even further.
I have considered increasing the cost of travel per pupil to cover the cost of running the bus, but
the increase, I believe, would not be sustainable for yourselves. I would need to almost double
the cost of travel from this year's prices. That would be to only cover the basic costs of running.
I apologize for the problems that this will cause, but I can not sustain the financial losses for
another year.
I would like to thank you for all the support and understanding you have given to both myself
and my team throughout the time I have run the route.
