St. Clement Danes School

It is with great regret that I have to inform you that I need to make changes to the services I currently run into St Clement Danes School.

Towards the end of the last school year, one of the drivers, having recovered from COVID-19, had a heart attack. The driver has had stents fitted and is recovering well.

Under the PCV rules, he has had his bus licence temporary suspended, and

I have been looking and advertising for a replacement driver since his heath issues, but to no avail. Which is not surprising given the shortage of drivers every company is dealing with.

I realise to commit to all the services I do at the start of the new school year, and be able to run them to the standard you rightly expect, would be both unwise and foolish.

Therefore I need to reduce the services by one, which after much debate, is the 852 from Apsley.

I realise this will cause major disruption to both pupils and parents, but is probably better than not being able to run the service at short notice on a regular basis, which I think would happen.

The best alternatives I can offer, though not ideal, would be to extend the 849 so it would start at Langley Lane at the top of Follet Drive before going past South Drift Way, picking up on route to it's current starting point at Ashfields.

For those in Kings Langley, if they would be able to, is join the 851 in Chipperfield.

Anyone that has brought a pass for the forth coming school year for the 852, I will either refund the money or transfer it to the other services, refunding the difference.

I will continue to advertise for another driver, and if by some miracle one does turn up, I will inform you and reinstate the run to as it is now.

When, and if, the driver does get his bus licence back, then I will have no hesitation of reinstating the service as soon as possible, but this process could take several months.

I wanted to make the decision and announcement earlier rather than wait till the school goes back, so parents and pupils have time to consider all options.

I would like to thank you for your understanding in this matter, and apologize once again for the disruption to the service towards the end of the last school year.

YEARLY TICKETS

Any YEARLY TICKET can be paid in full or by  Standing Order over 10 payments. TO USE this option please ORDER on line but do not pay then e mail us at info@lanescoaches.com with the order number.We will then send you the relevant information. (SEE THE ATTACHMENT FOR DETAILS)

The yearly pass is by far the cheapest way to pay for school travel. There are no refunds for journeys not taken when the service is operating.

 A 10 trip pass can be purchased from the website or by presenting a cheque to the driver with the exact amount made payable to ‘Lanes Coaches’

How to book your tickets

On line

To order your ticket, select your route and stop number on the Routes and Timetables page and click the 'buy a ticket' link for the stop you require. 

You can then either continue and pay by card on line, post a cheque or set up a standing order payment for yearly tickets (see above)

By post

Download a copy of the Postal Booking Form and the Tables (see attachments at right) then complete the form and return it to us with your payment.
